These days, fashion is all about the accessories. Changing your accessories, instead of changing your entire outfit, can be an inexpensive way to stretch your wardrobe without stretching your budget. And that is where Michal Yakar comes in.

Snatched up by famed accessories shopping destination, Henri Bendel, Michal Yakar’s jewelry collection offers fresh and affordable additions to anyone’s jewelry box. Michal, a graduate of FIT, has a knack for mixing unconventional materials into her pieces such as this fall’s adaption of suede interwoven into gold hoop earrings. She specializes in creating unique pieces of “wearable art,” as no two pieces are ever the same.

Created out of 14K gold-filled chain, her jewelry contains vermeil accents, semi precious stones and Swarovski crystals combined together to make really funky (and also formal) earrings and necklaces. “My pieces are dainty, elegant and above all else timeless,” Michal says. “They are classic styles that will go with almost any ensemble.”

Her above statement couldn’t be more accurate. I fell in love with a pair of vermeil hoops combined with a dark green suede cord (pictured above) at the same time I fondly noticed another pair of gold hoops with a daintier, dressier look (pictured below). Both pieces would complement both a formal or casual attire.

From the pictures above, you also may notice the shockingly low price points. Michal’s pieces may look expensive, but they won’t cost you more than $200! Even for this beyond gorgeous over-sized mother-of-pearl necklace (pictured below). Now that will get you some attention! Michal also custom designs pieces to fit your desired look. Sterling silver can swap out gold-fill or vermeil and chain lengths can be adjusted to suit your preferences. Custom-made orders are also accepted. In addition to her contemporary line at Henri Bendel, Michal will be offering a line just for brides. Fashioned out of her unpredictable materials, she promises that this line will “exceed the more predictable look of the simple pearl and CZ necklace.” Definitely a designer to watch.
