Accessorize With DANNIJO

Having only been around for a year, DANNIJO has proved itself to be one of the top emerging jewelry lines.  Created in 2008 by sisters Danielle and Jodi Snyder, each piece of Jewelry is handmade in New York. Their signature piece, a tangled gold necklace, is a great statement piece and can be seen in this week’s editorial “Here Comes The Sun.” Their jewelry often incorporates mixed metals, drusy quartz, crystals, pearls, and aqua aura, often combining colorful strings and clothes. DANNIJO’s pieces represent a feeling of life and color, that can be both dressed up and dressed down. They Snyder sisters have tapped into the positive colorful energy of life in all their pieces.

This sister duo has always had an interest in fashion and design, even teaching themselves the tools of the trade at a very young age. While still in high school, they opened their first boutique in Jacksonville Florida!  From there, after college, the girls moved DANNIJO and themselves to New York City. Once here, they created a capsule line in benefit of the African non-profit LWALA. The success of the capsule collection finalized their decision to take jewelry design on as their full-time career.

While incorporating their different styles into the line (Danielle is bohemian/rocker while Jodi is Hollywood glam), they have managed to collaborate their various inspirations into electrifying jewelry.

The designs seen in the WhatsWear’s Editorial “Here Comes the Sun” come from the Haring collection, which the girls describe as representing “anything and everything from the city that never sleeps” incorporating “…electric, psychedelic, neon graffiti-art that makes you want to dance.” The Dominica, a personal favorite, can be bended and twisted to take any shape you please. The Zuza, a necklace that incorporates color, energy, and pearls, is a great statement piece, that can be worn at any occasion.

Their designs have been seen on the likes of Natalie Portman, Blake Lively, Sophia Bush, Beyonce Knowles, Milla Jovovich and Katy Perry. To get the DANNIJO looks for yourself, head to Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Intermix, Net-a-porter, Shopbop, Harvey Nichols and Holt Renfrew.
