“Going Green” has spread throughout our culture like wild fire and I’m glad to say that it’s one trend I don’t see going out of style any time soon. For earth month this year I’m proud to report that Origins, a skincare brand based on using and manufacturing natural products, is kicking off the first of its kind, nationwide recycling program that accepts ALL empty cosmetic containers- regardless of the brand. The Return to Origins Recycling Program will give the lipstick tubes, shampoo bottles, jars and ect., to be recycled and converted to energy. The goal of the back to origins program is to keep our containers out of landfills and reduce the amount of waste we’re producing while simultaneously creating a means for another source of energy. I say Hoorah! The first step is always the hardest and Origins just hit a home run for mother earth. Celebrity sponsors include 90210’a Jessica Stroup and Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford. So I know we all have our fair share of empty plastic containers lying around- pick them up and head to origins!
