Joseph Leonard is a cozy West Village bar whose main focus is a huge U shaped zinc bar. Gabriel Stulman, a local responsible for opening The Little Owl and Market Table, decided to take a chance in a 175 year old building. This casual bar offers a comfort of hospitality. Whether it’s a martini or a draft beer, the 31-seat bar has a naturally worn interior with barn wood tables and an original tin ceiling. Stulman designed the space around it’s inherent charm, using antiques such as small wooden crates for breadbaskets, a pine armoire for flatware, wire baskets for dry goods and portraits of friends’ grandfathers, as well as his own grandfathers, the bar’s namesakes. Joseph Leonard will make you feel like you’re in your living room.
