Milan: Burberry Prorsum Spring 2009 Runway

Christopher Bailey’s spring 2009 collection was inspired by what he calls his garden girls and featured over sized button down gauzy cardigans with leggings in shades of grey, taupe, and moss green with over sized trenches in tan and metallic gold, which had a weather beaten look. Models walked down the runway in flowing above the knee prairie dresses with patched canvas floppy hats accessorized with wooden chunky block bracelets, carrying taupe bags made of patchwork python or skinny pewter woven leather clutches. The look was very American hipster meets European garden girl.
