My Favorite “IT” Thing: Oversized Cashmere Sweater

Oversized. Cashmere. Sweater. As winter approaches these three adjectives warm my body. An oversized cashmere sweater goes with any bottom from pants, leggings, skirts or tights and any shoe choice from flats to boots; even converse! It’s the perfect fall/winter look. Not to mention stylish. Cashmere sweaters come in all different colors, sizes and patters. I often like to wear my boyfriend’s, as they are the perfect oversized fit. There is also the choice of a v-neck, round neck or turtle neck. I personally like the V-neck, show a little skin in your oversized.

My favorite way to wear cashmere is over a pair of black leggings (on really cold days I will slip on some black under-armor) a chick hat, my pair of wayfarers, a pair of classic vintage leather gloves and the perfect match of flats or boots. This look represents classic comfortable style, as it was created by Audrey Hepburn and later perfected by Jackie Onasis.

While most of my cashmere sweaters have been picked up at certain vintage stores, there are plenty of places to purchase them. While shopping don’t be afraid to look at in the men’s section and try on a small or medium size. Some great places to check out for an oversized cash, are Macy’s, Barneys, Nieman Marcus, and my personal favorite, J. Crew .
