PARIS: Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2009
October 7, 2008 by Christian and Carlos
Looking ahead to lead us into the future, YSL’s fashion show certainly gave us an amazing view of what fashion is going to be like. Pushing it to the limit with a rigor Japanese theme, YSL sums it up with just one word “simplicity.” It is one of the biggest relief’s to hit spring by mixing in different cultures, which certainly raises the bar and gives the world a sense of togetherness.
Pilati can be very proud of this collection because he brings in the old with the new. By reinventing with a trend that he first started (low rise mid length relaxed fit trousers), he binds it into other types of outfits, such as shorts and jumpsuits. His pant suits were another stunningly simple sight, with the addition of a leather “grid like” with metal mesh shoes, it put the finishing touch on a breath taking piece.
Another piece that has kept this collection up was a black dress with jaw dropping cut at the bottom of the dress along with a drawstring bow on the back. In the end YSL have put themselves as a house ahead of the fashion business.
