“Keep it trendy, keep it classic + keep them forever.”
Recession Denim is pretty self-explanatory. No secrets, no gimmicks (hence the name), just cheap jeans in classic stylish styles all made in an attempt to offer quality for less. Many of us are sick of hearing about the recession and fashion houses trying to make amends for our ailing economy, but Recession Denim is different. Born out of and in our trying times, this jean company was started solely to relieve the pockets of fashionistas spending their money on unreliable-yet-inexpensive items in attempts to be chic for less (as opposed to older companies adjusting their prices and quality of their materials just to stay afloat). Creator Daniella Siri was sick of seeing her friends sacrifice the quality of their clothing in order to look fashionable. So she did what all good friends do and started a clothing line with lower price points and higher quality.
Launched last April in the United States, the first collection provided classic styles that will always be considered “in.” The company did so well, it is now launching its second collection based off trends seen on the Fall 2009 runways. Looks include flattering skinny jeans, denim leggings, and motorcycle/tuxedo detailing. In addition, there will also be a new Gypsy line offering lightweight denim pants, dresses and skirts. Both collections range in price from $85-$120.
These cheap-and-chic pieces are now available in over 50 top boutiques in the US and internationally, including Bloomingdale’s. For the fashionista on a budget, there is no better denim company. We especially love their black tuxedo jeans (pictured below)!
