The financial district is always in need of another cafe or restaurant. With new apartment buildings popping up everywhere down here, this area is no longer just home to wall street bankers. Even though Zibetto Espresso Bar opened a little over a year ago on Fulton street, the constant construction has made it very difficult for patrons to find this coffee haven. Thankfully, most of the construction work in front of Zibetto has cleared and financial district residents can drink their lattes sans drilling. Receiving a 26 out of 30 from Zagat (an almost impossible task), Zibetto has some of the best coffee I have ever tasted below 14th street. I consider myself a cappuccino aficionado and have tasted everything from Starbuck’s to the “best” coffee in New York City. Zibetto’s cappuccino didn’t quite measure up to 9th Street Espresso (located in Chelsea Market), but it was definitely number two on my cappuccino list. The atmosphere is completely adorable as well. Take your coffee to go or grab a seat at the bar where you can enjoy sandwiches or tiny cookies, cakes and candy. In my book, Zibetto is the best coffee in all of lower Manhattan. Also check out their midtown location!
